Moog | Drum 701 |
Description | Bob Moog built this Drum Machine for TV Theme / Jingle composer Eric Siday. The machine, the only one of its kind, never made it into production and consisted of prototype modules for drum and percussion synthesis. The system featured the following elements: - 701 Drum Synthesizer - 702 Percussion Synthesizer - 903 Noise - 912 Envelope Follower - Programmer - Wheels encoder - Keyboard controller The system includes six of the 701 Drum Synthesizer modules. Each one featuring a full synthesizer array with three oscillators, low-pass filter, and ADD envelope. The modules each have a red trigger button that is used to trigger the sounds while programming them. Note: unknown components of the system are missing from the lower shelves. This was likely some other Moog components such as sequencers or other note generation modules that appear to be missing. |

Velocity | As with a piano, the harder you hit a key, the louder the sound, unlike most organs which always produce the same loudness no matter how hard you hit a key. | Aftertouch | Pressing a key after you activated it. Channel Aftertouch, no matter which key, it will send a Channel message. Poly Aftertouch, sends the pressure per key instead of the whole channel. |
